Notice:  THIS IS NOT A CLOSED COURSE, PLEASE BE AWARE  The course will be coned, flagged and marked for your protection. We will have course marshals, certified flaggers and police stationed throughout the course, but please be aware of all traffic. We will have motorcycles as well as HAM Radio Operators monitoring the course and basic first aid needs available at all water stations. Water stations and porta-potties will be located every 1 1/2 – 2 miles on the course.

There are no casual walkers allowed in the Full Marathon.

The full marathon has a six hour course time limit. Please see below for check points that need to be reached.

Hwy 20 will be closed from 6:30 a.m. – 7:15 a.m. at the start of the race. Any runner not on Ducken Rd off Hwy 20 by 7:00 a.m. will be picked up and moved forward. WSDOT does not allow us to have the Hwy closed for more than 30-45 minutes. We will be enforcing that as the bridge closure is dependent on us being able to open up Hwy 20 according to our allowed permitted times. If you feel you cannot make it to the turn-off by that time we encourage you to run the half marathon as our full marathon course will have check points that need to reached by certain times in order for us to maintain our bridge access, base access and other road closure areas.

Shuttle information to the Start Line of the Full Marathon
There is NO parking for vehicles or passenger drop offs at the start of the full. There is nowhere to stop your vehicle on Hwy 20 and the State Patrol will flag you on. Rosario Rd. will be limited to shuttles and official race vehicles.

Shuttles will begin transporting runners at 4:45 a.m. from SR 20 / Bayshore Drive area between the 7-11 and Whidbey Island Bank up to  the start line for the Full marathon. The last bus will leave by 5:30 a.m.  We don’t recommend waiting ’til the last bus as everyone has that same idea, which could cause you to be delayed if there are too many people for the final bus.

Shuttles will also be available at the following Oak Harbor hotels: Coachman Inn, Best Western, Candlewood Suites, and Auld Holland Inn.

Marathon Check Points:
We will have check points that need to reached this year for the full marathon only. If you are unable to reach any of the check point times we will pick you up and move you forward to the next check point and average your current pace time accordingly to add to your overall finish time. Please allow us to do this as we have to meet road closure opening times.
