Course Description

As you start the race from Beeksma Dr. you will turn right onto Pioneer Way and head east onto E. Bayshore Dr. along the waterside. There is a small hill where Midway Blvd and E. Bayshore Dr. meet then it starts to level out again along Midway Blvd. Turning North onto Regatta following it up to the fishhook at Torpedo Road where you will head South. Upon Reaching Crescent Harbor Road you will head East.

When you reach Forest Drive from Crescent Harbor Road this will be where you will meet the Full Marathon runners. As you wind your way through the Navy Housing area you will drop down onto a paved pathway that heads onto the scenic waterside portion of the Navy Base. This roadway has some chip seal and is a bit worn so, please be aware. There is also a very short metal grated bridge that you cross on the roadway. We will have plywood down on the side if you prefer to run on the plywood rather than the metal grates.

You will reach a hill when you cross onto the Navy Base portion of Torpedo road. At the top of the hill there are sweeping views of Oak Harbor. You will pass a PBY Plane that sits at the top of the hill as a museum site, then start to run gradually downhill off of the Navy Base through Skagit College onto Pioneer Way. At Midway Blvd. you will head onto E. Bayshore Dr. and when you reach Flintstone park just a short distance away there are a few short turns and you will run next to the beach on the boardwalk that is constructed of fiberglass decking materials. That will bring you back out to E. Bayshore Dr. where you will head west turning right onto City Beach Street.

At the end of City Beach Street you will head into Windjammer Park along paved pathways and pass the finish celebration area heading out onto a very solid dirt pathway for a very short distance. Once you leave the pathway you will be on Scenic Heights Road and you will start to have a series of rolling hills where the elevations will be the highest.

There will be a turnaround timing mat located just past Miller Road as you turn back onto Scenic Heights Road. Make sure you go over the mat. Then you are in your final two miles of the return before the finish. Finish Line is located in the park on grass.

If you are a walker please be careful to allow runners to pass. Do not walk together in rows as this can be quite difficult for a runner to get by.
